Maybe someone like AOL buys TechStartups.com first?
And if it’s sold, I’m sure then Mike can get Captcrunch.com as a last resort.
PS: any conflict or gag or to have “crunch” is this blog? Should make for an interesting outcome.
Good luck to Mike…..it’s been a long road, stick to what works for you and give the people what they want. Good stories about tech, but hopefully about diff/new topics. We got sick of reading 100 stories about FB and their BS valuations.
Agree completely. Some of the less confident, newer bloggers at TechCrunch would delete comments with even the most modest and respectful of criticism. Then they’d also blacklist you just to be sure.
Some real thin skins writing at TechCrunch, and it has nothing to do with fighting trolls or trolling, or even trollops.
The older and tenured writers, however, never seem to delete or censor.
Exactly. Is he going to be the anti-Techcrunch for the rest ofhis life? How about a clean break and a fresh start? The world doesn’t need more TechCrunch drama.
Even though the point of this post was a little long and drawn out I completely agree with its author. It couldve been shorter though. lol. I guess I can now give up hope on an Arrington/Huffington sex tape ever coming out now.
Great! I knew it was a matter of days for your new “place” — I will wish you luck, but we all know that you really don’t need it! You have proven over the years that you really know what you are doing and that you know your audience.
I would make a small request… please do not hire Paul Carr!
Looking forward to read more and more IT news on your blog.
Dave
One day it may dawn on you that the readers were always the problem. They will give more traffic to content they hate than to content they love. They willl leave meaningless commentary that drags down meaningful content. They can’t even listen to you say “here I am” without polarizing what few words you offer, preparing for wars they dream up. The old media knew how to handle the mob of readers: take their money and write pretty lies. You seem to have refused that game, good for you. Though the real crunch is on. They are listening and waiting for the neurological equivelant of a crack-pipe hit from the “f’d company plus” they have come to associate with you. Are you going to give it to them, or has it dawned on you?
This is the most influential blog I’ve ever read. I’m deleting all of my previous subscriptions in Google Reader, this is the one for me!!
The recent article “Here I Am” is a refreshing read due in large part to the tactile objectivity of the author. You get a physical sense that he’s not candy coating a dung-ball, like many of the other bloggers have been doing throughout the years.
Kudos, 5 stars, uncrunched is the only subscription you’ll need heading into 2012, just in time for the many post-apocalytic startups that are sure to come!!
Hi Mike, Congratulations! do you think you would need a cool (3D animation for web) ad?
i can show you the link for viewing.
all best ~
Jack contact: zhaojune yahoo dot com.
271 comments and counting… is this one of those “do it yourself” blogs where the comments are the content? Because that would sort of make uncrunched.com the blog version of Twitter. Disturbing.
And complaining about the joke on Mike’s shirt only means you haven’t heard that you can tell a VC in the Valley because he’s the only guy in the room willing to answer “I’m unemployed” when you ask him what he does for a living.
Mike, don’t you think you need to grow up and move on? Calling your new blog Uncrunched and showing a picture of your Unpaid Blogger t-shirt just makes you seem like a spurned lover who can’t get over his ex.
We get it. You started TechCrunch and left. Now, start something new. Make a clean break. You know a lot about serial entrepreneurs. They start something, sell it, move on and start something else. They don’t keep reminding everyone ‘Hey, remember me? I’m the guy that founded X’.
Uncrunched may be a good name if you childishly want to draw out the drama with TechCrunch. If you want to start blogging as a VC, then name the blog approriately, put on your big boy pants and start blogging about being a VC. This whole TechCrunch drama has just gotten tired.
A very well thought reply and good suggestions. Worse things happen in life, but you have to move on. There is so much more that you can do. Just stand up and fight. You’re not going to lose! Good luck.
I just saw Vic G friended you, whereas he only subscribed to me. Still feelin’ special — though clearly not as special as you, as evidenced here. Must be the lovely green tshirt….
Hi Mike! Best of luck to you here at WordPress…getting back to your roots, I see. I hope this bad boy will be full of shocking exposes and biting wit, things that have been sorely lacking since your absence. 🙂
Michael is expert on title-only based posts. I still remember the Twitter post, that was awesome, but this one is even more significant. Good to see you back, get MG and Paul on board and I’m unsubscribing from TC.
Well U only have yourself to answer too now. So with great power (the power of one) comes great responsibility. How about not ‘selling’ out this time. I am looking forward to your blog. We have all given U one chance already, this is your second. So really lets see what U do with it.
It’s a good effort at your first post Mike, but did you get the memo about using more SEO friendly content to drive traffic to the rest of the company’s sites?
Mike, We would like to buy your blog out, we promise not to get in your way at all and let you do you. I promise i am not lying and will not go back on my word in a couple of months and fire you when i feel like it…pinky promise*
Hey if any of you know of any startups who need an awesome animated video demo created, my company creates them. We are able to do our demos at a lower price because we are trying to build up our portfolio. check us out!=)
Mike, I realize that I am a bitch. Will you ever forgive me? You know it’s all about the money these days. And I’m what you use to garden your flowers, so please excuse me while I step up the pole.
I hope this site is dedicated to helping creative and interesting upstarts reach a larger audience. That being said, here you go: http://hubski.pen.io/ http://hubski.com/
Good luck, there are a lot of people pulling for you.
I’m here to help you go from an Unpaid Blogger to a Paid blogger! I will post a banner on your site for my new startup http://sportsfan.me – I will pay you $50 a month for the first 3 months. You can reach me through the website and send me your paypal account for quick payment!
Interesting that Michael Arrington can make a blog post consisting of just a title and get more comments than a good TechCrunch post on a good day! Goes to show who the real drawcard at TechCrunch was…
Cant wait to see what you write about next, you are the man and an inspiration. Hoping you write about some of my fav startups like thejumpoff and mapeverywhere. Sick of hearing about facebook tweaks and what the big guys are doing, lets get into the next wave of world changing coolness.
Was wondering what all the hub bub was about than find out it was you Michael that started this blog up, congrats on getting back to blogging again. I wonder how much you will be able to sell this one for down the road for?
Good Job! Hope you blow the Huff n’ Puffington Post right out of the water (figuratively or ratings wise, of course…..getting taken out of context is pretty easy with a plagiarist around)
When you have time, visit http://www.AreaCodeNews.com and check it out. Very interesting concept how visitors/members post updates and it’s associated with their neighborhood/community. At any given time, you can see what’s buzzing in any area code worldwide.
Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for novice blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
Hey, I think your site might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your website in Firefox, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, fantastic blog!
omg. first.
the first ‘first’ post I’ve smirked at.
haha same! good luck michael!
Kewl a new crowd-sourcing technique – just post the heading and we fill in content?
Oh wait maybe he wrote using invisible ink? getting out my decoder ring

Good luck Mike.
TechStartups.com v TechCrunch.com
Which name is better??
TechStartups.com (the domain) is for sale.
Oh Wow. That’s lame!!!
Techstartups.com is a better name. TC is an amazing name.
But I like the Techstartups.com name.
Isn’t that what TC wrote about for years, tech startups?
I have this domain:
CaptCrunch.com
Mike, if you want it … it is yours at no charge…
Welcome back !
LC
You have to take this guy up on his offer! Munch better name!
Arrington Rocks !!!!
LOL. I think Mike should adopt CaptCrunch much like Rob Malda uses CmdrTaco for /.
Hey, I like the domain but uncrunched.com I think is really good as well! Plus it’s got links everywhere now. Stick with it and your SEO will be good!
+1 to captcrunch domain! lol
that blog is pure shit have fun with it though
techvox is better. not for sale. 🙂
inevitable, blogging is a virus that has no vaccine, who has blogged always will blog
http://www.ijunkey.com/ much better
just hoping that you’ll never adopt the same censorship of comments applied by your TechCrunch friends!
I came here just to say that. Yay, no Fb connect!
Dasein is mitsein? Das Heidegger?
http://www.fuckhuffington.com, it’s a better name
Arrington for tech news, for life.
Omg last but one 🙂
Sorry you had to resort to this but truly look forward to being an every post viewer. Chamisa.co is on the Arrington Team
TechCheck
Haha, I laughed at the first comment. Bet it made Arrington smile.
Keep up the hard work Mike!
Ok, so I will cut in line and say: OMG! second.
********************************************************************
the blog layout is not good
it has too many lines, to be really minimalist
the comments use too much vertical space
********************************************************************
OMG i am 550………………..
who the f is מייקל ארינגטון?
Let’s go – you’re losing your momentum
Mike, jus’ want’in to wish you the “best of Skill” in all your endeavors.
That is until he starts denigrating you in true locator douchebag style. Wait for it …. it won’t be long.
My first reply 🙂
Back to basics. Can’t wait to read what you post. Good luck Mike.
BOOM SAUCE!!
Ha, ha at both the name of the site and the banner image.
Wishing you the best of luck! Almost getting nostalgic for 2005 again here..!
There you are, indeed.
WOW sweet freedom! this is what had to happen to get rid of FB comments!!
good luck Mike.
Amen.
But no luck, either good or bad. And please, more of your drama queen hyjinks. Ha ha
Congrats. That is all. Every adventure has its bumps and twists and turns. But if you put your hands up in the air and enjoy the ride …
Welcome!
Love it.
Hurray!
Wherever you go, there you are.
No ones here :o)
First
You’re few minutes late….
Congratula… hey wait a minute!
first!
looking forward to your take on all things tech.
… rock you like a hurricane.
Oh damn I wasn’t even close to first.
First!
(So it’s not quite May 2000, but for ol’ times sake).
There you are.
This is awesome! Good luck for the next great thing.
Caught you! In all seriousness, excited to see you continue what you do best.
How are you, Mike?
Quality name.
My new favorite non-journalist journalist site.
Here you are. Love the name.
That T-Shirt is way too pixelated. Has it been drinking?
It’s either an intentional or subconscious dig at the new TechCrunch logo.
It’s Alive!!!!!!
Hello there Michael 😀
Ooohhhhhhh….exciting
Hi! You still owe me a steak.
Rock me like a hurricane?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxdmw4tJJ1Y Scorpions reference
History in the making.
Always a fan of your newsbreaking.
There you are indeed. So the world domination continues here then?
*fistpound*
I’d rather see what Michael Arrington IS rather than what he ISN’T. Uncrunched is a reaction. Would love to see you do better.
Exactly. Is he going to be the anti-Techcrunch for the rest ofhis life? How about a clean break and a fresh start? The world doesn’t need more TechCrunch drama.
When has Mike ever been (publicly) anti-TechCrunch? I’ve not seen him do so. I’ve seen everyone else blasting them, but not Mike himself.
Darnit – I was hoping you’d go with Joomla this time instead of WordPress LOL
I like that you liked your own post. Good luck, looking forward to some unfettered tech journalism.
Should we Rock you like a Hurricane?
yes.
I came, I saw, I crunched.
I, I love you like a love song, baby
I, I love you like a love song, baby
I, I love you like a love song, baby
And I keep hittin re-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat
Rock ‘n Roll …. go get ’em.
(not) First! Awesome site – I love what you’ve done with the content so far!!
Sweet.
yeah, and . . .
I already like this better than TechCrunch 🙂
The title… is… just amazing… good luck!
Godspeed John Glenn
You should use the Keatley pic of you in profile. It rocks.
Cmon.. hire Paul Carr already!
This blog sucks; there’s no content on it.
ahahahahahahahaha
Classic. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
No………… Bring back the Facebook Comments.
Check out TechSock.com
How many people will stop reading Techcrunch now? I am willing to bet you (Michael Arrington) will take a lot of readership with you. 🙂
Do you need someone in techcrunch for some post mention? Talk to me I know people.
Hey. Where can I contact you?
keep it flowin’. It’ll be interesting to have this all “Michael Arrington Channel”
Just Arrington. No FB comments.
I would have paid AolPo to get what I’m now getting for free.
Excited to see what you’ve got for us.
Here We go..Tech crunch your dad is here 😛
Thanks for letting me know where you are. I will hang around to see what happens next. Cheers.
Welcome Mike, we are thrilled to have you on WordPress.com!
welcome back 🙂
omg, I can comment here without facebook getting their tentacles in me. So maybe I will.
Welcome back!
what a slut. having a picture of your boobs as the banner.
Beautiful!
ROFL at UnCrunched. That does not break your non-disparagement clause?
Welcome back!
Toni Schneider reblogged this on toni.org.
un)ethical, (un)trustworthy, (un)AOL, (un)crunched or just (un)interesting: Player’s choice.
Present. Unreservedly.
Woo! Stick it to the man when you’re no longer that particular man.
All your crunch are belong to us!
Arrington… you are such a tool. “Unpaid blogger”? Jesus. The fuckin’ nerve of a crybaby who was paid far too much to begin with.
You’re just jealous he’s using poetic license. And of his 25 million.
And his man boobs…
jajaja q papelon!
go mike! Lets start crunching.. Haha
Mike…glad to see this, just let it flow.
tl;dr
Grossartig! 😉
Techcrunch is history…
I’ll just leave this here:
A little shorter than your typical blogpost but I do look forward to more insightful and incendiary content.
Oh no! How’s AOL gonna eat now?
Reminds me of this: youtu.be/XafOAAvZmUA 😉
you had me at the Air Supply lyrics…
So is this blog going to respect embargoes or what?
Finally, a newsworthy story 😀
this blog is so over
Even though the point of this post was a little long and drawn out I completely agree with its author. It couldve been shorter though. lol. I guess I can now give up hope on an Arrington/Huffington sex tape ever coming out now.
So now what?
And the RSS?
At least with Google Reader, simply adding http://uncrunched.com worked for me.
I’ve been bleeding from my nut sack seeking relief from HuffingtonPostMortem™ & their pathetic TechMunchies.
Maybe we should have another BarCamp to help you kick off your shiny new blog? For old time’s sake? 😉
And you’ll ask us again how to build traffic, cuz our blogs were bigger than yours back then (for a short period of time, granted).
good times. Pandora and TechMeme launched there, too.
Slow news day?
This blog has been going downhill ever since you started blogging in it.
best slow news day usage ever.
Welcome Home
Is it too soon to talk about a conference? “Uncrunched Erupt”
Brilliant!
Great name. Has a wickedly familiar ring to it! 😉 Best of luck with the new blog.
Slow news day?
You will rock as always!
What a joke.
Best of luck Michael…
Love it! Consider me subscribed.

Awesome. How did you get the domain? How long before the cease and desist? : )
Dave

He’s baaaaaack…
What took you so long?
Glad to have you back. Also, seeing you run a more personal blog reminds me of how TC started. Good luck, Mike.

ijunkey.com will be the mile stone
Let me buy “uncrunced” for like $35 million, so that I can fire your ass. Then I’ll be the Queen of all Media. Yeah, that’s the ticket..;.
I read somewhere that Paul Carr is looking for work.
Mike, way to bring it home. I’m excited and can’t wait to see and participate in uncrunched.
LOL

Are you guys looking for help? 😛
No but seriously, can I write for the site?

Meh
congrats mike, i’m a huge fan!
Please restart a tech blog.
I can no longer trust techcrunch…. They have too much money to lose to be really honest.
Even though I don’t really care for your brashness, I will take that over crookedness any day of the week.
At least your brashness is the honest you, instead of the corporation mandating the editing of the soul and the truth.
Really,,,,, please restart….. I will follow.
Congrats from the German Startup-Kraut!
Way Bitching
@arrington Need some help?
Let’s chat.
good luck mike
Mike – I know it’s going to be insightful, exciting, illuminating…and most of all, genuine. Looking forward.
Uncrunched is possibly the best name to choose during a double dip economic recession.
You’ve got the right name, I wish you success living up to it and leading the way.
can i be another unpaid blogger? i’d work for free ninja masks.
Seems a bit more fact-free than usual, but I’ll take it 🙂 welcome home
Good luck Mike!
So… I don’t suppose you’re hiring bloggers, eh?
Good luck! 🙂
Rock me like a hurricane
This is the most influential blog I’ve ever read. I’m deleting all of my previous subscriptions in Google Reader, this is the one for me!!
The recent article “Here I Am” is a refreshing read due in large part to the tactile objectivity of the author. You get a physical sense that he’s not candy coating a dung-ball, like many of the other bloggers have been doing throughout the years.
Kudos, 5 stars, uncrunched is the only subscription you’ll need heading into 2012, just in time for the many post-apocalytic startups that are sure to come!!

“The recent article “Here I Am” is a refreshing read due in large part to the tactile objectivity of the author.” lol. Glad my strategy worked.

‘unpaid blogger’ – now thats funny 😀
Way to go! This one liner blog entry is getting more attention than Techcrunch!
Do you have any type of non-compete or are you completely free to write about what you want?
Tell the peeps at techcrunch to change your Cruchbase listing already. People might not know you have changed blogs lol
He will make the change on uncrunchbase.com
Welcome back
Looking forward to the tech news, will eventually pay less attention to techcrunch…
This better be good.
You are such an attention seeking Troll Mike. Keep up the good work.

Looking forward to reading more dribble drabble from an Insider outsider blogger writer communist
That’s probably the first time a blog launches and gets so many replies, RT, likes… to its first Post ever. Good luck Mike!
Im very happy with the launch of this new blog. Hope Micheal will take it to top!!! 🙂

Arrington for tech news, for life.
this tells people still love unpaids..
next post heading should be WINNING!!!!
Never seen so many reactions on a post that short. This is engagement redefined 😉
This page loads too fast. You need to add like 60-70 widgets on it and a bunch of Javascript
This is amazing Arrington, can’t wait to see what comes.
Sweeeeeeet! Luv a fresh start. There got to be too much noise on TC in recent yrs.
Good luck.
Do not spoil the fun. Get some popcorn. Kick back enjoy ride. Jorge.
@motmaitre, thisismynext.com was taken.
Good Luck. Hope this one never gets sold. My best wishes are with you.
I just saw Vic G friended you, whereas he only subscribed to me. Still feelin’ special — though clearly not as special as you, as evidenced here. Must be the lovely green tshirt….
Who the fuck is Vic G? And who are you?

Ainda bem que não sou famoso. Famoso escreve um cocozinho, todo mundo vai lá e comenta. Que perda de tempo federal!
Will there be any handy cooking tips… like what to do with those darn holiday leftovers?
Michael is expert on title-only based posts. I still remember the Twitter post, that was awesome, but this one is even more significant. Good to see you back, get MG and Paul on board and I’m unsubscribing from TC.
Right on my birthday 🙂

Yo it’s the Zuck Dawg in the house. Who wants to see my awesome body? Also, I am sexually in love with Andy Samberg.
If you got inside tips. Call me. Also, if I die, it was murder.
I totally left the wrong link. It’s not like I am the same person in all these comments. Because I’m not. Pinky swear.

Over 400 comments. So far.
That’s not too shabby considering that’s a 10:1 ratio to the TechCrunch article linking here [1].

What’s this all about? Let the speculation begin . . .
Best of Luck Arrington Sama
Is your mobile theme working? I can’t see any text below the headline and above the comments.
Interesting that Michael Arrington can make a blog post consisting of just a title and get more comments than a good TechCrunch post on a good day! Goes to show who the real drawcard at TechCrunch was…
Welcome back and all the best!
Lets see new wave of success!
WordPress is a great system, welcome to wp world. 🙂

Congratulations!
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Raise the Jolly Roger and take no prisoners!
Good Job! Hope you blow the Huff n’ Puffington Post right out of the water (figuratively or ratings wise, of course…..getting taken out of context is pretty easy with a plagiarist around)
Hi Mike,
When you have time, visit http://www.AreaCodeNews.com and check it out. Very interesting concept how visitors/members post updates and it’s associated with their neighborhood/community. At any given time, you can see what’s buzzing in any area code worldwide.
Thanks and good luck with this new project.
Mike you are truly an inspiration…keep up the great work! Go CrunchFund!
