  136. One day it may dawn on you that the readers were always the problem. They will give more traffic to content they hate than to content they love. They willl leave meaningless commentary that drags down meaningful content. They can’t even listen to you say “here I am” without polarizing what few words you offer, preparing for wars they dream up. The old media knew how to handle the mob of readers: take their money and write pretty lies. You seem to have refused that game, good for you. Though the real crunch is on. They are listening and waiting for the neurological equivelant of a crack-pipe hit from the “f’d company plus” they have come to associate with you. Are you going to give it to them, or has it dawned on you?

  137. Yo, I just crunched in here.. uncrunch me!

  138. Ajay says:

    let the drama begin 🙂

  139. Best of luck to Mike from GreatApps.com – launching soon

  140. JoAnne Kao says:

congrats mike, i’m a huge fan!

  141. Mark says:

    Please restart a tech blog.
I can no longer trust techcrunch…. They have too much money to lose to be really honest.

Even though I don’t really care for your brashness, I will take that over crookedness any day of the week.

At least your brashness is the honest you, instead of the corporation mandating the editing of the soul and the truth.

Really,,,,, please restart….. I will follow.

  142. Venture TV says:

    Congrats from the German Startup-Kraut!

  143. Newton says:

    @arrington Need some help?

    So… I don’t suppose you’re hiring bloggers, eh?

  149. Wmjcollins says:

    Rock me like a hurricane

  150. This is the most influential blog I’ve ever read. I’m deleting all of my previous subscriptions in Google Reader, this is the one for me!!

The recent article “Here I Am” is a refreshing read due in large part to the tactile objectivity of the author. You get a physical sense that he’s not candy coating a dung-ball, like many of the other bloggers have been doing throughout the years.

Kudos, 5 stars, uncrunched is the only subscription you’ll need heading into 2012, just in time for the many post-apocalytic startups that are sure to come!!

    LeeOwen

    • Michael Arrington says:

  189. King of the Trolls says:

Looking forward to reading more dribble drabble from an Insider outsider blogger writer communist

  190. 271 comments and counting… is this one of those “do it yourself” blogs where the comments are the content? Because that would sort of make uncrunched.com the blog version of Twitter. Disturbing.

And complaining about the joke on Mike’s shirt only means you haven’t heard that you can tell a VC in the Valley because he’s the only guy in the room willing to answer “I’m unemployed” when you ask him what he does for a living.

  191. That’s probably the first time a blog launches and gets so many replies, RT, likes… to its first Post ever. Good luck Mike!

  201. Never seen so many reactions on a post that short. This is engagement redefined 😉

  202. This page loads too fast. You need to add like 60-70 widgets on it and a bunch of Javascript

  203. Steven Sarmiento says:

This is amazing Arrington, can’t wait to see what comes.

  204. @chrisco says:

Sweeeeeeet! Luv a fresh start. There got to be too much noise on TC in recent yrs.

  205. Mike, don’t you think you need to grow up and move on? Calling your new blog Uncrunched and showing a picture of your Unpaid Blogger t-shirt just makes you seem like a spurned lover who can’t get over his ex.

We get it. You started TechCrunch and left. Now, start something new. Make a clean break. You know a lot about serial entrepreneurs. They start something, sell it, move on and start something else. They don’t keep reminding everyone ‘Hey, remember me? I’m the guy that founded X’.

Uncrunched may be a good name if you childishly want to draw out the drama with TechCrunch. If you want to start blogging as a VC, then name the blog approriately, put on your big boy pants and start blogging about being a VC. This whole TechCrunch drama has just gotten tired.

  206. Ahmed says:

Good Luck. Hope this one never gets sold. My best wishes are with you.

  207. Sammi says:

I just saw Vic G friended you, whereas he only subscribed to me. Still feelin’ special — though clearly not as special as you, as evidenced here. Must be the lovely green tshirt….

  228. O G says:
